A Heart Full of Thankfulness
It's the eve of Thanksgiving day. I'm downstairs in bed as I listen I can hear busy feet above me, busy in the kitchen. I'm anxiously waiting the smells of pie wafting down the stairs. I was able to put Bradach to bed tonight. I'm so thankful we have a warm home to sleep in. I feel safe here. My son's belly is full and I am thankful for a family that can pick up my slack when I'm not able to function part of the day.
Things are going good here. I have still been able to cook dinner most nights. So I have been taking advantage of my son and his creativeness and desire to learn to cook. If he could he would be up making pies right now with Grandma and his Daddy. Here are a few of the meals we have been making lately.

Up here we have cheddar biscuts.

Taco soup....and we had this for lunch today....so good a few days later!

Blury but really good, tomatoes from the garden, herbs from our garden, noodles and cheese.

This is blurry too but it was so tasty it's green apple and cabbage slaw with Greek Yogurt.
Another GREAT thing that has happened in the last week was that I was informed I have been sponsored to be in the PASS program. It is Pocatello's adaptive ski school up at Pebble Creek Ski Area. I couldn't be more happy to have received this great gift. Skiing has been a part of my soul since I stepped into ski's at age 4. I missed last year because of chemo complications but am ready for this year! Thank you to those who sponsor and work for programs like this. This will be the first time I will be able to ski with my son since he was a year and a half old. Yes, I had him on the hill before he was 2. I haven't been able to afford a date with my hubby up at the hill since I got sick about 5 years ago. So my heart is yearning for this winter to be here.
The final thing I am thankful for that I will write about is how hard my cousin has worked to help me. Erin has done more than she will ever know for me. Heart disease has come with it's crazy hardships and it has hindered me in physical ways. Erin has opened many ways to get my story out and now The Brady Heart Foundation Inc. is up and running. Literally we will be running 7-16-2016. Through this foundation we will be able to educate not only one small area but we are planning on this growing so we can educate doctors and public everywhere! There is no limit and I see that. If there is one thing that I can do is get my story out to help others struggling. Thank you Erin.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I pray that you will all be safe and travel safe. Please take time to really be thankful for what you have.
